History

BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT (BTSSB) was founded in 1988 by Akinori Isobe and his wife, Fumiyo. They were originally located in Shibuya, Tokyo Japan. When first opening its doors to the public, BTSSB only consisted of three designers; Isobe, Fumiyo, and a close friend. Taking a while to find their niche style, initial sales of BTSSB clothing were weak causing Isobe to rethink the style needed in modern day fashions.

Finding inspiration in a local shop offering Lolita fashions fueled the now trend setting styles found sporting the brand name tags BTSSB. While the sales have grown since hitting the market, Isobe is not afraid to admit his involvement in the dirty work of producing, marketing, and managing BTSSB.
