'''Nana Kitade''' was born 2 May [[1987]] in [[Sapporo]], [[Hokkaido]]. She started learning the piano at the age of four and the guitar at fourteen. After junior high, she went to [[Tokyo]] to pursue a singing career.
In [[2002]], she passed a demo tape examination at a [[Sony]] Music audition, which drew 40,000 applications. She was signed to [[SME]] Records and recorded her first single [[Kesenai Tsumi]] in [[2003]], which was used for the ending theme of the anime Fullmetal Alchemist. In [[2005]], she released her first album and held her first official concert. That same year, she became the first [[Japanese]] artist to perform at the [[Hong Kong]] Comic Festival.
Katade was one of the musical guests at Otakon [[2006]] in Baltimore, Maryland and her album 18 -eighteen- was released in the US by [[Tofu]] Records. From 27, 2006, Nana released thirteen downloadable singles for cell phones in a row.
Kitade’s popularity partially stems from her subscription to [[Gothic]] [[Lolita]] fashion and she has launched her own fashion line called [[Moon King]].
