The Shibuya Club Quattro is the most popular of four "Club Quattros," which are a combination of 4 live band clubs located in Shibuya, Tokyo. The first Club Quattro opened up in June 28, 1988 in Shibuya. There are now four live houses run by Shibuya Club, which is why it is named “Quattro” (a spelling variation of the Italian word for 4). Since the first one opened up in Shibuya, 3 more opened up in Nagoya, Shinsaibashi, and Hiroshima. Nagoya’s opened up in June of 1989, Shinsaibashi in May of 1991, and Hiroshima in 2001.

Today, however, new artists from home and abroad play at Quattro as one of their first venues when they are emerging in the music scene. New Artists continue to see Quattro as their first step towards succeeding in the music industry. Some of the notable international artists that have played at Shibuya Club Quattro include Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morissette, Nirvana, Oasis, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and Norah Jones.
