Nakayoshi is a magazine that appears monthly in Japan. It is considered to be a manga magazine, and has mostly manga, or Japanese comics, inside its pages. It was first published in 1954 by Kodansha, a publishing company, and is still published by them. Nakayoshi prints mainly shōjo manga, which is manga whose target audience is girls that are between 13 and 18 years of age. These manga generally focus on romance between a male and female, and can be on any subject matter, from science fiction to historical. The main point is to appeal to the target audience.

Nakayoshi is a fairly large magazine, running on average about the width of a phone book. Each magazine comes with a small toy or gift, which is called a furoku. These can range from games to posters to stickers to pop-out figures. Anything that is small enough to fit inside the pages of the magazine can appear as a gift to the receiver. Nakayoshi is also published monthly in Indonesia by the [Elix Media Komputindo] press, and is called Nakayoshi: Gress!.
