History

Charlotte Ronson was creating custom Tees and tanks for her friends well before she started her own line of clothing. Having been born in London and raised in New York, she was exposed to a wide array of eclectic styles early in life and quickly started to develop her own. After starting her own collection, the C.Ronson Collection, she worked on evolving that style into the 1970s style cotton t-shirts and wedge heels that have now made her well known throughout the fashion industry, most notably in Japan.

In 2005, Ronson signed a deal with Japanese apparel company, Sanei International, to open 14 Charlotte Ronson boutiques in Japan. In addition to her own stores, Ronson has begun expanding in both the United States and in other countries within Europe and beyond.

Celebrity Interest

Much of Charlotte Ronson’s rise to prominence comes because of the growing interest among trend setting celebrities such as Kate Moss, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jessica Simpson, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie, Gisele Bundchen, Gwen Stefani, Mischa Barton, and Winona Ryder. In some cases their endorsements have helped to boost the brand’s popularity while other times it has only taken them wearing Ronson’s clothing to increase its visibility. She has even been mentioned in an infamous moment within a Jay-Z song.

Current Clothing Lines and Partnerships

Most recently, Ronson partnered with Earnest Sewn to create a Japanese only sold pair of jeans. In addition, she is working on limited edition t-shirt collections with her mother Ann Dexter Jones, Brother Mark and Sister Samantha, and best friend Shoshanna Lonstein-Gruss.

In recent collections, the Charlotte Ronson line has started to move toward more sophisticated areas of fashion, past the tees and heels she is so well known for. Her newest partnership with Sanei gave her more exposure than ever with over one thousand apparel stores in Japan including Jill Stuart, Kate Spade, Cacharel, and Vivienne Tam.

The newest collections remain as playful as ever but incorporate a more sophisticated sense of romance with rainbow and butterfly prints on new cotton blends as well as a new found sense of color. The addition of 1960s inspired prints and military fades have been included as she moves toward a more wide reaching overall collection.
