Blue Hearts were a pop-punk rock band that was popular both among punk and mainstream fans alike throughout the late 80's and early 90's. The made their major debut in 1987. They disbanded in 1995, though vocalist Hiroto Koumoto and guitarist Masatoshi Mashima went on to form a new band, The High-Lows. Although the band has long been gone, their music continues to be popular today. A cover version of Linda Linda was used for the 2004 drama Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu, which was incredibly popular, and film Linda Linda Linda released in 2005.
