Taro Yamamoto was born November 24, 1974 in Hyogo, Japan. He has appeared in both television and film since 1995. He may be best known for his role in Battle Royale, which is based on a Japanese novel of the same name. The book is one of the best-selling and most controversial books in Japan. In addition to acting, Yamamoto also enjoys scuba diving, tennis and boxing.
In 2004, Taro Yamamoto won the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Moon Child.
